The wheel turns
I ended the New Year on a high. I got accepted by a lovely publisher and my debut novel was launched. But Dame Fate decided to put her dancing shoes on and during the beat of her dance she has changed my direction.
I discovered, through my experimenting with writing, that aptitude for writing erotica. Anyone who knows me well enough, there are a few, will know my mind is as twisted as corkscrew and as dirty as sweeps earhole! To others this may come as surprise. To some this may seem a despicable, dirty and loathsome thing to do. I had every intention of writing my erotica in secret under a pen name, only known to a few. This is where Dame Fate thought it be fun to dance through my life.
Enter into the fray Toney La Tripp. Some of the biggest changes to my writing career have stemmed from Book Junkies group on Facebook. I met Toney here, we got along almost immediately. Toney is the author of the fabulous Jacked Up series. I like Jack, but you have to feel sorry for him. It was only some time later I realised that he too had a small publishing house. So the cunning plan of getting him to publish my erotica under my pen name occurred to me. I made Jo, Boss Bean of my current publisher, Inknbean press, fully aware of my plans and intentions. Jo is lovely by the way.
Dame Fate not content in me just thinking this secret little plan, decided to dance through my life again. Toney asked me to step in last minute to co-write a joint project, an author who was doing it got sick and could not finish it. Originally it was going to be a 'ghost write' and no-one would know it was me. I went to clear this with Jo, as it was not technically covered by my contract, I always played fair and openly. But Dame Fate jumped into Jo. Jo is a very considerate person and has the interest of her authors at heart. She initiated a discussion with Toney without me knowing about it. So when I woke Wednesday morning I found an email offering the chance to move across to Page Turners Publishing, where both my main stream and my erotica could be held under one umbrella.
I spent two days deliberating over the decision. It has been made with my head rather than my heart. I had, as previously stated, never intended to write erotica openly as me. But the universe had other ideas. So it seems that it is part of my brand. So I am taking the decision to write both main stream fiction and Erotica under me or rather Krispy Jackson (my nickname) with Page Turners Publishing. So the Beans will caretake my novel until it can be transfered over to Page Turners. I wish all Beans current and Future much success and plentiful words.
I hope you all understand that this is a big step forward to me and a brave one. I hope you wish me well.
